Focus Groups

Focus groups provide a unique and interactive way to gather information and share views on any number of subjects.

There are 2 key ingredients to running a successful group:
  • Ensure you get the right people around the table
  • Ensure the facilitation is focussed, non judgemental and neutral.

A typical focus group comprises 8-10 people discussing issues for around 1 1/2 hours.

We can also offer ‘variations’ of the focus group to suit individual client needs.

Bigger Groups

We have facilitated groups of up to 30 people, using a mixture of small group discussions and main group feedback. These sessions can last from 2 hours to a full day. Based on a more ‘workshop’ style, they are a useful way of involving larger numbers of people in a short time scale.

Smaller Groups / Interviews

For example mini groups, triads (3 people), paired interviews and individual interviews.  These are particularly useful if the people you wish to consult with are difficult to find. They are also useful if the subject to be discussed is very sensitive and therefore more appropriate to smaller numbers.

How Many Groups?

This will depend on your project and probably your budget.  Sometimes 1- 2 are enough to fulfil a brief, whereas othertimes a series of nationwide groups is most appropriate.

Whatever your final project size and shape, we are happy to provide advice and support.  Please contact us for further information and a bespoke quote.
